We are pleased to announce a seminar presented by François-Xavier THEILLET, as part of the CiTCoM internal seminars:
« Recent NMR methods for structural biology in pharmacology studies »
NMR spectroscopy is a versatile technique, whose contributions in structural biology have been even further expanded in the recent years. A number of new methods have been developed, which permit studying large proteins/nucleic acids (up to MDa complexes), their post-translational modifications, their allostery mechanisms at us-ms timescales, their binding to ligands with more accuracy, or their conformations and interactions in live cells.
I will present an overview of the above mentioned techniques and their complementarity with the classical NMR approaches. I will of course spend more time on my present activities (PTMs, IDPs, in-cell NMR). I will finally discuss how NMR can be combined with the other structural/biophysical techniques, whose capacities have seen revolutionnary improvements in the last decade.
